Guest guest
I have a good friend who is thinking of taking prednisone for her pain issues and mixed connective tissue disease and I am not sure what to tell her, her Dr is the famous Dr in NYC and he told her that he has treated many implant women this way, with low dose pred. Can anyone share any info or opinions they might have about low dose pred, it is 5mg a day that he wants her to take, she is afraid, she is just like me our symptoms are exactly the same except that she has the brain fog still. She has the hand and foot thing, so we share allot of the same thinking and we both don't like steroids, I cannot take them and won't, but she is wanting opinions so I told her I would ask. Thanks allot,

Guest guest
Hi , In the words of my wonderful internist, "A Baby Dose of steroids by IV is OK for an emergency situation; otherwise they turn your bones to 'dust' --- which none of you BI Ladies can afford to chance"! Guest guest
My pulmo has okayed me to take ambien when I have to take prednisone precisely for that very reason. I am very careful not to take it any other time, in order to make sure they actually work while I'm on pred. Be sure to consult your doctor first. Guest guest
When I was on heavy doses of prednisone my allergist prescribed Atarax for me to take at night and most of the time that helped me sleep well when I did sleep. But I know all too well about being too wound up to sleep at night. I got a lot of reading done, and sometimes got some cleaning done. At any rate, you might ask your doctor what will help you sleep. My husband and I have both found drinking herbal tea about an hour before bed time helps us sleep. Camomile tea is really good for that. Just two suggestions....but still, ask your doctor for help. Guest guest
My dr prescribed the Xanax for me as well it has helped They did more studies on me correlating anxiety/depression with asthma. Finally, I feel I am getting relief. The antidepressants and the Xanax have helped immensely. I finally am able to breathe. The Xolair works great, the anxiety/depression is down and I am having easy days of breathing. The only thing from time to time are panic attacks and that is scary, scary bc ten the asthma triggers. I am learning new strategies to help aid in the process No prednisone for 2 months now From: uca79iii <uca79iii@...> Subject: [ ] Re: question about prednisone Date: Sunday, October 19, 2008, 9:31 PM > > I'm on another round of prednisone.
