Guest guest
Sierra, How has your stomach been handling Minocycline? Is there anything you have done to help with nausea and stomach upset? Have you noticed any relief yet at all? Lori [ ] Re: Revisiting MTX hair loss - Sierra Hi Lori, I've been on minocycline 100 mg, 2x/day for one month. I visited a wonderful rheumatologist today for a second opinion. He has participated in research studies involving minocycline. He said that full efficacy usually takes 6 months. Like my other rheumy, he does not believe minocycline works by killing an active bacterial infection. Guest guest
She just started Minocin this morning, so its too soon to tell if it will upset her stomach, but I understand that is the biggest reason people stop taking it. Lori [ ] Re: Revisiting MTX hair loss - Sierra Hi Lori, Other than a little dizziness and spaciness the first week, I haven't had any side effects from the antibiotic. I'm feeling pretty well, but that may not be from the medicine yet. The doc I saw today stressed how slow-acting the drug is... Has your daughter had tummy troubles? Guest guest
Lori, I have not had any problem with N/V with minocin but you may want to give her some yougart each day. Some females have a problem with yeast infections when on long term antibiotics and yougart helps prevent that problem. I try to eat some each day and so far have not had a problem.
