Hello Debbie! I just went on Plaquenil last week and so far, so good! No side

effects are presenting themselves. I only lasted 3 days on sulfasalazine

because of the stomach pain. I do know that you have to have your eyes checked

periodically because the plaquenil can build up in the retina and damage your

eyes. This side effect is rare, thank goodness. I also read that this is the

most easily tolerated DMARD. Hope that this works out for your friend.

Someone in my fibro group is going to be put on Plaquenil. She doesn't

know anything about it. So can anyone tell me how it worked for you,

any side effects and anything else about it? I can pass the info on to

her.

Debbie,

I have been taking Plaquenil for at least 7 years, along with mxt,

and haven't had any problems with it.

is right about your friend needing to have her eyes checked

beforehand, it is VERY

important.

Hey! I took it and I never had any problems with it, no side effects or

anything of the kind.In fact my Doc. pulled me off of it and another med. and

I am currently taking just enbrel now. However since I have been off I have

noticed that I am having flares again.

I have been taking it for 2 years now with no problems. It has helped my hips

more than anything. I also take prednisone. I still have a lot of problems with

shoulders and knees but shots help that. I hope your friend has good luck with

it.
