A grandfather we know got one for his grandson for Christmas and was raving

about how amazing it is.

them.

We do not have an iPad, nor do we feel we can justify spending that much money

for one, when we have already have a business computer, a business laptop, a

personal family computer, our college daughter has a brand new laptop, plus

we've an old computer and an old laptop that can be used for some purposes.

I have Little Reader, Little Math, and a Totally Words puzzle program on the

family computer and can handle the mouse just fine for these, as well as

for other online programs like Reading Bear and Starfall.

The only thing I really want a touch screen for is fine motor skills apps,

because (6)doesn't have the pencil control yet to trace letters with

accuracy. And he resists daily writing practice. He has no problem with

practicing reading every day, and it isn't too difficult to get him to color,

but he will frequently refuse to come and sit down to practice writing. We home

school, so if he doesn't work on it here, he won't get it anywhere else. Except

his 30 min. of OT once a week, and only half of that time is fine motor skills,

and maybe only 5 min. of that time is actually writing.

So, if the Nabi has fine motor skills apps, such as tracing shapes, letters, and

numbers with a finger, then I'd happily invest in one for .
