Guest guest
Debbie, Are the WellPatch better than Icy Hot patches? I have never heard of them. Joyce from Texas [ ] Re: New to the group and in severe excrusiating pain HI April, I, too have chronic right shoulder pain. It's severe at times, also. A medrol dose pack I finished last week helped a few days but now it really hurts again. I am wearing a WellPatch heat one but it's not helping much. The WellPatch pain one contains menthol and works well. Both can be worn 8 hrs. I also use a rice sock when I need to. Little Salonpas patches are good, too. They contain menthrol and salicytate. All these patches are otc. Since my right hip is still bothering me I sit on a heating pad as much as possible. Tomorrow I see my neuro for that. Warm hugs, Debbie L
Guest guest
There are 2 creams that can do some of what the patches do, Zostrix and Capsazian (sp) creams. They are similar to the athletic rubs but are formulated for deep penetration. I was going to be in a study for Zostrix, but the pain wouldn't stay still for more than 3-4 days at a time. It's another avenue for you that are interested. Guest guest
Icy Hot patches works to a degree. It's according to how badly my back is hurting. The pain was bad enough that I carried my cane with me. I tried to find the WellPatch at Walmart today but couldn't find them. The next time I go to Waxahachie I'll drop by HEB. Thanks much. Joyce from Texas [ ] Re: New to the group and in severe excrusiating pain HI Joyce, I haven't tried the Icy Hot patch since it has the same menthol as the WellPatch. The WellPatch is found in the same area of the store and are cheaper. Since you live in Texas, you can find them at HEB Does the Icy Hot one work for you? I use the Icy Hot cream, too. Guest guest
Zostrix contains capsazian and the active ingredient is from a hot pepper plant so if you use them wear gloves or make sure you wash hands thoroughly after applying. Studies have shown them to be effective in both RA & OA and also for diabetic neuropathy. Do not rub your eyes or nose or wipe with any on your hands. linda in tennessee betnden@... wrote: There are 2 creams that can do some of what the patches do, Zostrix and Capsazian (sp) creams. Guest guest
I use to use Zostrix cream years ago but am using Capzasian cream now. Maybe it's my imagination but it seems as though Capzasian is stronger.
