study from 2004: "Clinical Efficacy of Upper Cervical Versus Full Spine Chiropractic Care on Children with Autism: A Randomized Clinical Trial"Improvements were seen in children's Autistic symptoms after both types of

adjustments, but much better behavioral changes with the A/O Upper Cervical style.

Two of the children in the Upper Cervical A/O group no longer met

criteria at all to be considered autistic, by the end of the study period

(3 months).Behavioral improvements were assesed via the ATEC, the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (below for the link). The children were randomly into a Full Body chiropractic adjustment group, and an Upper Cervical (Atlas Orthogonal or A/O) style treatment.Upper Cervical chiropractors do not crack, they use very specific, gentle tapping techniques. They usually require 1-3 Xray views pre adjustment to confirm the exact problem areas and severity (amount of tilt and rotation of vertebrae). We are lucky to have an experienced A/O

practitioner here in Beijing! ( Hinson, at BJU)For a list of A/O practitioners worldwide and to find one in your area visit here<http://www.upcspine.com/prac1.asp> to see the Autism chiropractic treatment study abstract go here <http://www.upcspine.com/reslib3.asp?id=101 & cat=3%20 & con= & key=>To download and read the entire study go here<inbalancewellnesscenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/UC_autism.pdf>To download a clean nice copy of the ATEC form visit
