Guest guest
That is very cute! Thank you for sharing. How cute ...."crowns!!" Deb w/ Aidan and Ting - 5 m/o twins Los Angeles, CA Cute story Hi Everyone This morning my husband and I took Ben and Kaelyn to church - one of our first outings since they got their bands. I was a little worried about everyone's reaction to the bands but I thought of all places, people should be pretty nice in church. And I was right. Everyone still came up to oh and ah at the babies, everyone was just as nice as always. As a matter of fact, when we were leaving, a sweet little old lady, who we didn't know, came up to us and asked if she could take a picture of the babies in their "cute little crowns." I'm not sure why but she had one of those disposable cameras with her. So we posed for her and she said she'd be sure to give us a copy. I don't know if she knows what the bands are for or not but I thought she was so sweet! Just wanted to share. Thanks Beth in NC Mom to Ben and Kaelyn DOCBanded 9/23 at 7 months oldFor more plagio info

Guest guest
I was pretty nervous the first time I took out with her helmet too. It sounds like you had a pretty good first experience. That's great! It will be nice to have a copy of the picture of your whole family together - that was very sweet of that lady. Good luck with future outings! Guest guest
Beth, That is a cute story! I definitely think the bands bring them more attention! Hannah just eats up all the added attention of course. My cousin has identical twins the same age as Hannah, so we always joke that we are such a spectacle we can't go anywhere together! Between her babies being so identical and Hannah's helmet all anyone wants to do is talk to us and oogle over them. Wait until you take them to the mall! , mom to Hannah, DOCbanded 5/12 and 8/12 Cape Cod, Ma > Hi Everyone > This morning my husband and I took Ben and Kaelyn to church - one of our first outings since they got their bands. Guest guest
To Be Six Again A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife turning back and forth, looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her Birthday. I'd like to be six again, she replied, still looking in the mirror. On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, everything there was. Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a Mc's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M and M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, " Well Dear, what was it like being six again? " Her eyes slowly opened and her _expression suddenly changed. " I meant my dress size, you dumbass! " The moral of the story: Even when a is listening, he is gonna get it wrong. man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong. Guest guest
I think I'd rather be 6 years old and go to Six Flags....... sounds like fun - I don't think I've ever had a day like that then or now. Guest guest
I have noticed too just how common it really is. My cousin has brachy and should have been banded when she was a baby, but her mother never saw it necessary, today she's a teenager and has to keep her hair long because otherwise it's extremely obvious and people tease her. But since Liam was banded, I notice all sorts of things about people's heads, and I've realized it's all much more common than any of us would think. My husband and I ran into an old friend this past week when we wereout with our twin boys. (Our son Ian has had a STARband for 5 weeks now.) He and his wife were having a get together with several couplesthat we used to hang out with, but have lost touch with, and heinvited us over to see everyone. Well, last night we stopped by withthe twins and they all have several kids of their own now. As we were leaving two of the little boys who are 5 and 4 years old, came over tosay good-bye to the boys. They quickly noticed Ian's helmet and askedwhy he was wearing it. I explained that he has a flat spot on his head and the helmet is going to help round his head out so it is nice andround like their heads. Both boys (from different families) quicklyresponded, " Oh, we don't have round heads. Our heads are flat too! " They both then turned around and showed me their flat spots. I had tolaugh. I guess it is more common then I thought! I'm very happy withour decision to band Ian!

Guest guest
I didn't notice before they pointed it out. I could tell when they did though. Actually, when one of the couples had found out that Ian had plagiocephaly they both said that their son (who is now 5), had that too, but it will work itself out. I wonder if they realize now that it won't. However, in both boys cases, they weren't as severe as my Ian's. > > > > I had to share this with each of you. Guest guest
I'm so happy that we (and all of you) are being proactive. I really have to say that the 5 weeks that we have had Ian in his STARband, have not been bad at all. We've already seen some great results. I do worry about him in this warm weather, but thankfully we have air conditioning. > > > > I had to share this with each of you.
