Guest guest
Hi Dennis: Well, when it rains it pours, dosen't it? That must have been one frustrating day for you. You are lucky, though, that you know how to fix these things yourself, otherwise you would be paying big bucks for the repairs! I hope that all gets better with you, and that you are back on your trike pulling that scooter again soon! Guest guest
The 'Bird was Starmist Blue, had a special racing engine built for race qualifying at Daytona, and was a real pleasure to drive. Since it's only 2 seater, Betty straddled the shifter and Mom hugged the door, especially when we went over the Rainbow Bridge, the tallest bridge in the south. She's afraid of heights and water, so that was a bad combination to begin with. I can't imagine what she might do if we had crossed Lake Ponchetrain (sp?), north of New Orleans. It's 15 miles long and all water. It's already hot here, but the humidity is the worst part. And we haven't had any rain to speak of again this year, so it's going to be another drought and forecasted to last for years longer. Sweetgum trees have taken over one planting of blueberries and blackberries, so they are dying out slowly. I still have a thick stand of blueberries on the hill in back that are almost 15 feet tall in places and almost too thick to mow around. I have more than 5 varieties that produce from May to September. Some berries are about the size of a pencil eraser, but others are the size of your thumb, and they all taste really good. I have a few Dorman Red Raspberries left, but all the Ba-Ba's died. They didn't have any flavor anyhow, so there's no real loss. It sure can be nice to 'go out for breakfast', though. Dennis Re: [ ] DENNIS Oh Dennis a 1957 T-Bird when I was a kid and dating in the 60s that was the boss car of the times and you had one.... Your cherished memory of your mom is worth everything though and that she laughed is even more wonderful It must be getting hot as blazes down there now In the catskill mts of NY we hit almost 90 today and humid about 80 percent Blueberries oh my I remember as a kid coming up this way in August that is when the blueberries and huckleberries ripen and we go into the woods and pick them with milk containers placed around out necks with cord...we came out of the woods full of blue/huckle berries all over us and having a wonderful time we also make jam and pies enough for the fall and winter memories are good as long as we pick the good ones smile my new friend you may not be farming in one sense but you are surely developing something even more precious CHILDREN...
