Low functioning to me is not the standard of intellect at all, but

to me is of the thinking that in all of the core areas of autism are

severely impacted. meaning no functional form of communication (not

just verbal language) limited to no social seeking of others to

interact in level of a mutual give and take, and no to limited

functional play skills, and to me I to add that they have no

functional or very limited daily functioning skills such as cant

feed or dress self and not toilet trained. to me it is when all or

most of the cores are of greatly impacted that some might refer to

it as LF. although am of discovering that many do not like the terms

of LF and or HFA in regards to autism. (not speaking of aspergers

here but autism) I to be stillt rying hard to learn and process the

whys to that thinking but it is of a real issues to some. For me I

to personally not find a reason to discredit of the uses of it

excpet many want to assume it means intellect and to me that is not

of one of the things I to ever think of in regards to LF or HFA. I

to think that both terms are often used to clarify the level of need

for the individual who is dx with autism. Just like some to assume

HFA and aspergers are one and the same and I to think they are of

different too. I to agree that Aspergers is one form of autism

spectrum. but anyways this si one areas that gets of me stuck over

and over and so want to try to avoid this areas of thinking because

it triggers me much and i to get stuck trying to understand the

terms and how they vary from person to person and list to list. it

is of too complex. But have learend from one it is of all the way in

which each of us percieve of it from our own perceptions. And

because of that it will vary from person to person in the way it is

of described. so the above is of the way I to describe of it or

think of it.
