Guest guest
I am a sad mommy right now. There is a 4yr old girl next door. She comes to play at our house and Phoebe is so ecstatic to have a friend. The girl has never seen things like a tube or breathing treatments. I just show her and act normal. I am always happy to introduce kids to see that it is not weird.Except now the little girl next door is bringing her friends over one at a time to see the freak. They walk in for less than a minute, they gawk at phoebe like she is some kind of a side show exhibit, and then leave. This makes phoebe hysterical when they leave and do not play with her. I try to calm phoebe, but it really gets to me. I cannot force them to stay and play. So just now I walked next door after it happened again, and mentioned to the parents next door. I did my best not to cry, but I want them to know that is not cool. Did I do the right thing? I feel horrible for phoebe to be treated this way. I am sure I looked like a complete weirdo, but I could not stand for my daughter to keep being treated like this. I know the little girl did not do it on purpose, but this is not something I want her to keep doing.Anyone been through this before?
