Guest guest
My sister has the same when she's stressed. Our ND said to use a powdered amino acid, l-lysine. You can just drnk in water. I also used this prophylactically when my son was getting chemo...no mouth sores at all! When he was sick I was getting them alot. Our ND finally devided it was probably yeast that was getting the upper hand due to stress. I switched up my typical probiotic to introduce new flora/new amounts. I took one orally and used another that I opened in my mouth and let dissolve. Both therapies worked like magic! Good luck, Christy
Guest guest
We are antibiotic pros as well. When the good bacteria are killed off as well as the bad bacteria, it creates an issue where yeast/fungal infections, as well as other opportune infections can take hold. Adults and healthy kiddos can usually handle the issues on their own once the antibiotics finish, with some side effects like tummy runnys, etc. But immunocomprimised kids can have issues. Fungal/Yeast infections can look different than what we normally think of. A mouth with sores or just sensitive can be a yeast issue. Just a bad taste in the mouth is a sign too. Many diaper rashes are actually a yeast infection, and do well with an application of any anti fungal like monostat alternated with butt paste or destin can clear that up. The runny tummy issues are the awful side effects that come with antibiotics for us and I have to be proactive about getting that under control. On antibiotics I always start my kiddo on Lactinex. It is a behind the counter probiotic you have to ask for at the pharmacy. Our cvs carries it. It comes in granules and tablets. The ones on the vitamin aisle do not work for us. Daily I give her Bulgarian Yougurt, which is just plain yogurt in the dairy section. I am sure any live cultured yogurt would work, but I like saving the glass jars this brand comes in. I also like to use it for dips and cooking. There are a few probiotics in the vitamin aisle that do work like Culturell and Florastore, but they are pricey. Hi there, my daughter has, like many of your kids, had her fair share of antibiotics in her 6 years of life. I always felt like she is doing good in not showing too many side effects from too much antibiotics. But that might be over. Her immune system is very down and weak which we know in general because she is sic a lot but also through blood test. Well, she now has started to have a mouth herpes that shows up every time she is stressed. It is starting to be there every 2 weeks and we are at the end of it. I am back and forth thinking it could also be a fungal infection in her mouth but the Dr. says it is herpes. Has anybody had these things happening to their child and what did you do or give for relieve? Thank you. Simone
Guest guest
Hi Simone,My Johanna had multiple infections, sinus/pneumonias/shingles in her mouth/rotavirus-etc. After 8 pneumonias she was finally diagnosed with Primary Immune Deficiency-your child needs special labs to confirm. Find an immunology specialist and get the tests done. . . . Johanna now gets IGG subQ that we do at home, but knock on wood has been healthy and can come out of an illness by herself .. .
