Guest guest
When I was on oral mtx, it made me sick to my stomach. The injections don't bother my stomach. Hopefully you will adjust to the mtx, but if you continue to have stomach aches and diarrhea, please tell your doctor. He may switch you to the injections, which are more effective. I get fatigue too. If you take it at night before bed, you may sleep through the side effects. I'm usually tired the next day. a On Nov 14, 2005, at 9:44 PM, morg332000 wrote: > > Hi all, > > Just started drug yesterday. 2.5 x 4 once a week > > Stomach cramps diareeha 5 1/2 hrs later. > > Not too bad, just a couple of incidents. Guest guest
Hi M, Welcome to the group. I had the same problem when I first started on 10mg and after about 4 or 5 doses it ceased as my body got used to it. As long as it is not any more than a trip or two its probably not a problem and you may want to give it a few weeks to see if it resolves on its own. Any longer or more severe than that and you probaply need to mention it to your Dr.. Also fatigue for a couple of days is a very common side effect and to be expected. It took about 4 weeks for me to notice a difference in joint pain and stiffness. Hope it works for you. morg332000 <lubrazzi@...> wrote: Hi all, Just started drug yesterday. 2.5 x 4 once a week Stomach cramps diareeha 5 1/2 hrs later. Not too bad, just a couple of incidents. Nothing today. Real tired yesterday and today. This seem to be the case with most of you? Also on hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice a day and Folic acid. Thanks M
Guest guest
I was having a problem like that with my dose- 2.5 X 8. My doc just split it up- I now do 2.5 X 4 on Thurs and then again on Sunday. Its a lot easier on my stomach. Give it a few does and if it still bothers your tummy- ask your doc if you can split it to two does. Guest guest
Hello, I was diagnosed with R.A. in 2002 and I have been giving myself Methotrexate Injections since 2003. Just recently my liver functions have been slightly elevated. My doctor says it is a normal reaction and my levels are not critical in anyway. So my 1st question is: Has anyone that has taken Methotrexate had any liver problems and if yes what was the course of action taken 2nd Question: If you have had liver problems did you consider or try a natual liver flush?? Thank You So Much!!
Guest guest
When I was on MTX, it only lasted about 4 - 5 days. Whether this was a true biological effect or a placebo effect, after that time period I was more achy until I had to take my next dose. Shandi maggiemac52 <maggiemac52@...> wrote: I take my methotrexate on Sundays. It seems to me that on Saturday (and sometimes on Friday), I wake up achy. Is it my imagination or does methotrexate " wear off " by the end of the week? I also am on Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. I had to stop taking my anti-inflammatories last year because of stomach problems - I just started noticing this after I stopped taking Daypro. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
