I was given the series for hep b after I was infected but before I knew I was infected. why do you ask? If you havent had the hep b series or hep a shot, by all means, its very important to do so because to combine the hep b or A with hep c could be very serious.

I decided to do treatment when I was pretty sick but didnt even know it.. I had body aches and fatigue.

As far as dreams go, I had very 'weird' dreams but only while on treatment.. they were not 'scary' but just weird and kind of disjointed, lol,,

When I was diagnosed, I had been infected for 23 years, now its been 30 years this last halloween, I've been in remission almost 6 years now.

hope that helps

1. Has anyone been vacinated for Hep B since being diagnosed with Hep C ?2. Did you decide to do treatment before, after or without having terrible symptoms from the Hep C ?3.Does anyone have vivid dreams EVERY night and think it's possibly linked to the Hep C ?4. Does anyone think or know whether they have had Hep C for longer than 33 yrs. ?Thanks for any answers.

I was vaccinated a few yrs ago against hep b , most drs reccomnend both hep a and b vaccines . Most vivid dreams are related to cardiac problems and other things . And I know of a few people that have been infected for 30+yrs , and most are really sick with the hep c or a hep c related disease .

Thanks Jax. I have only seen 2 gastrointerologists a total of 2

times. Vacinations for neither A nor B have been suggested but I'm

going to ask for them this Thursday. I have continual crazy dreams

each night. They started about a year ago and make me tired. It's

like watching tv all night. I'm figuring I've had Hep C 33

yrs...Debbie

I just got both A and B boosters since tx.

I decided tx after I had my gall bladder removed and had a biopsy done. It came

back actually looking good but my viral load was 400 million. I was not feeling

real great but also had a lot of stress going on in our home so thought it was

due to that. I also have five children with DD so I'm always on the go, too.

I've noticed my dreams seem a bit more bizarre since I started tx.

I was dx'd about 20 yrs ago. At the time it was called non A non B.

Hope this helps.

-Thanks. I have been having VIVID dreams every night and any time I

nap. They wear me out. I've been developing seemingly minor heart

incidents for the past year or so but haven't talked to a doctor

about them. I've never heard of it being cardiac related so will

research that. I had read that Hep C can cause the dreams. I'm

planning on the B vaccine for sure. Can I ask why you didn't have the

A vaccine? I've had the Hep C for probably 33 yrs. FATIGUE is my

biggest complaint, then stomach problems, upper quadrant pain, and a

little bit of brain fog thrown in so I know I'm lucky,,,Debbie-- In

1 I did get vaccinated for Hep B. I had Hep A in 1958 and my body showed antibodies so I did not need that. It is important to get the vaccines.

2 I have not treated. That decision was reached with my MD after my biopsy not because of symptoms. It was reached as a result of my age, the progression of the disease, and what was available at the time--9 years ago.

3 No dreams of any consequences--

4 Yes, I have had it at least 42+ years. Nine years ago when I had my biopsy, I had had it for 33+ years and I was early stage 2 fibrosis with mild fatty liver. What Hep C does to one person does NOT mean it will do the same thing to the next person. It may become active at any point---and may remain relatively dormant. Alcohol always causes it to accelerate. I don't drink and take almost no meds of any kind for the 42 years. Started supplements about 9 months ago, but that had no effect on past tests. ONLY a biopsy will tell you the condition of your liver at the present time. I have known for 42 years that I had some kind of liver problem--from enzyme tests--but did not know it was Hep C until 1999.

Comparing yourself to others does not mean much with this disease. It progresses differently in everyone. The only way to know where YOUR liver is is by having tests done. Then you can make decisions. Decisions should not be reached based on anything but YOUR results.

-Thanks Suzie. That's one thing that is so frustrating about this

lousy disease. It's SO different in so many ways. BUT the fact that

you've had it for 44 yrs. sure gives me HOPE! And to anyone who's had

a liver biopsy I take my hat off to you since the idea SCARES ME TO

-Thanks Amber. To me having Hep C would seem like a walk in the park

compared to having 5 kids!...lol Seriously though to know that so

many have had it for so long does help. I won't ever do the

treatment and can't imagine being brave enough for a

biopsy. ...Debbie-- In Hepatitis_C_Central ,

I was the one who forgot all my pills. I went away for Thanksgiving. I thought I had them all with me but I was 3 short on Saturday.

I have not been vaccinated for A or B. I got Hep C in 1978. I wasn't diagnosed until 1996 and it was a fluke. No symptoms. My doctor told me to monitor it after giving me a biopsy and it coming back clear. I watched it for 12 years. I had another biopsy that came back fibrosis with fatty liver. No inflammation. My doctor told me to stop drinking and watch it and see what happens over the next 2 months. By that time I was noticing that I felt full really easy. My white blood count was low so they did a ct scan and that came back with portal hypertension. Its a good thing they did that test.

I don't sleep well. I toss and turn almost every night. I took my 3rd shot on Friday. I take my pills at 7am and at 9pm. My doctor just said morning and night. I see him next week and will ask him. Other then a fever twice a week I only have fatigue and a loss of appetite at times.

I had an episode with rage this weekend against my fiance. I got crazy. I guess I should go on anti-depressants until treatment is over. I have never acted out the way I did. I have never ever hit him. I hit him with a belt. He was shocked and so was I.

My viral load is 2 million.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for answering my questions hon,, it really helps to know what we're trying to answer. The only thing I would say that "IF it were me", I'd take my night dose at 7 PM so that you make it 12 hours apart. I dont know that 2 hours would be that significant but if the insert says that if you are missing a dose by more than 2 hours, to go to the next dose would make me question that.. and I questioned everything while on tx..lol.. So as I said, I'd take the night dose at 7 pm and that would be the only change I'd make..

I hope your missing those 3 pills wont impact your outcome, so I would really try hard to make sure you never miss another dose and take your daily's on time.. that 'could' help make sure that you have a good outcome!

hugs,

jax

Sorry to hear you have the rage stuff, , been there,

done that, I know it's not a happy place to be.

I'd sure talk to the doctor... Also the CDC recommends

being vaccinated against A & B, they can be oh, so much more

serious when you have Hep C..

Take care,

Sheena

Just apologize to your fiance and tell him that you were just

preparing him for what it will be like when you are in labor with his

baby...he needs to practice dodging flying objects!!

Warn him that your next " rage " event will prepare him for the cussing

he will hear during labor...if he truly loves you, he will deal with it.

Of course, you may want to try the anti-depressants too...that way you

can blame them when you lose control. They are very helpful when it

comes to needing an excuse for the " Riba Rage " .

Hi,

I've either had it since 1971 or 1983, 25-38 years. I was diagnosed in

2002 and my biopsy in early 2003 showed only minimal inflammation -

thankfully!

I was vaccinated for A in a two shot series, 6 months apart. I had Hep

B at some point but apparently cleared it, so I was not vaccinated for

that.

I chose not to do the combo treatment back then and have taken the

holistic approach with supplements and nutrition. I am looking forward

to the dna/genetic therapies that are on the horizon and hopefully will

be out within 5 years.

I don' thing dreams have anything to do with hep c but they can caused

by many things. Poor sleep is common with many disorders.

You might want to go ahead with the biopsy - it's the only way to find

out the condition of your liver. I was a nervous wreck as well but

after I was " consciously sedated " , it was ok - don't really remember

most of it - later in the day, I was out feeding the alley cats, though

I wasn't supposed to. It's not that big of a deal - just insist on

somehting to calm you!

Good luck,

Chris

Thanks Chris. I've read that one should get the Hep B vaccine if you

have Hep C. I'm going to ask on Thurs. at my appt. for the Hep B which

I know comes in a series of 2 shots spaced I BELIEVE 6 mos. apart. I

won't ever do conventional treatment( unless it someday changes) and am

just now deciding to get busy taking a natural health approach. I read

early into beign diagnosed that unless a person is considering

treatment there is really no need for a biopsy so I guess I will wait

on that. I " M CHICKEN WITH A GREAT BIG C!...Debbie--- In
