Guest guest
To Joyce Ann, and , Congratulations, . Great going, JoyceAnn!! And --STOP DRINKING TODAY--not in two weeks. It may be hard to go back to AA and say you screwed up, but YOU MUST STOP DRINKING. Have you told your MD that you are continuing to drink??? He needs to know that. I remember a clubhouse in Costa Mesa back in the 70's. Don't know if it is still there. I got sober in So Calif and there are sooo many great upbeat meetings there. I no longer attend meetings--they are not the same in small towns--at least for me--and so much else in society has changed that I have trouble identifying. And rural Texas is a far cry from So Calif. I still know many who do attend though. BUT, if I had a problem now, regardless of where I live, I would run--not walk--to the nearest meeting. And since you are STILL drinking AFTER knowing about your Hep C and knowing you are to start treatment soon---YOU HAVE A PROBLEM !!!! And, , I know the " goodies " will be harder than the alcohol/drugs to stop. I could just stop those, change friends, places I went, etc. but eating is very different. Just dx with type 2 diabetes. My next step is to clear my house of all the many goodies And keep them out. My half brother,12 yrs younger than me, is legally blind because of his diabetes, so I know it has deadly consequences as well. And Rick, your last posts are beautiful. Your honesty and openness is so refreshing. Thank you. Cheers to all, Suziq
