Yes! Or at least I think it's from the Arava, it can be hard to tell

with all the other meds I'm on. But I have stomach pain ALL the time.

Pepcid cuts it but I can only take so much. And food makes it worse. I

like to eat big meals but now I cut them in half to enjoy them later.

Gotta talk to my rh in two weeks so I'll see what he says.

What exactly is pancreatisis and what are the symptoms?

Thx,

> Hi All...as some of you know, I haven't had a job for a while, and

when I try, it just doesn't work. I get sick, and fall on my face, and

feel crummy about myself...yet again. I am trying to think of something

to do from home, and people tell me about medical transcription. But

But I wonder, are there really jobs out there for medical

transcriptionsists with little experience (assuming I took some courses

in that)? Or is that a big bunch of hooey? Working from home is a

harder prospect than what a lot of people say, I know. But I am trying

to think of SOMETHING I could do, and make an income. I am an excellent

typist, good speed, know quite a bit of medical terminology, creative, a

good writer I am told. I am not looking to be wealthy, just not so darn

poor. And besides, I just feel like I want to do SOMETHING. Any

thoughts on home businesses, other than sales. (I could not sell a T

Bone to a starving man : )

I'm a writer and web designer and I work from home. It took me a long

time to make any decent money, tho, and now, with my fingers so sore

and swollen, my work is suffering. But if you're a good writer, you

might be able to make a little. Go ahead and email me off list if you

want and I can tell you some good ways to get started...

Hi :

I worked as a medical transcriber for many years,

before and after I had children, but have not done so

for the past 18 years. When my son was 4, he

underwent a tracheostomy which required 24/7 nursing

by me, so no more sitting at a typewriter for hours

with headphones on - I would not be able to hear if he

needed me.

Up until that time, I worked before my kids full time

med transcribing, and then after them started my own

home business. I worked for a rehab hospital, picking

up tapes which I transcribed, and then returned the

work to the hospital. Good money. Really good money.

I also worked for an orthopaedist part-time. But all

of that came to a halt when my son got his trach. And

then we moved to where we are now - not the house we

are in now but the area.

He then underwent open heart surgery, and I just kind

of forgot about my transcribing, just taking care of

him and my daughter who was 3 years younger. Over the

years, I have thought of going back to it, but then RA

stepped in and brought that to a halt again. I just

don't think I could type as much as needed to make

good money again, typing for over an hour just makes

my hands scream.

It was good money, though, and I worked from home. I

did not take any transcribing classes, just worked in

various doctors offices, hospitals, typed, and picked

it up. The things I did were pretty much history and

physical exams, and the normals were typed much the

same, so I got real speedy with it. There are

services out there with trasncriptionists who work

from home - you might want to contact some of them and

see if that would work out. Taking medical

terminology classes would also be really beneficial -

I am sure there is so much new out there that I would

need that again myself. You can do that at a local

junior college that offers nursing classes. You'd

need the equipment necessary to listen to and

transcribe tapes - don't have any idea of what kind of

tapes they use anymore (man, I feel like a dinosuar

with the kinds of tapes I used lol). I would

definately enourage you to try it, if you hands can

keep up the work. Mine just can't any longer.

Let me know if you need any more information - best of

luck - also, let me know of anything that might be of

help to me with my limitations on typing for prolonged

periods of time. I have time on my hands to try

something out maybe.

I hope you'll soon find a job you could do at home. You are right, there is

nothing worse than sitting home watching the dust count rise.

Your remark " I couldn't sell a T-bone to starving dog " made me laugh. When it

comes to selling stuff, I am afraid I am just as bad as you.

Good luck. I'll keep on sending positive vibes your way.... fingers crossed

and all.
