Guest guest
No, this isn’t going to simply go away. I certainly could be wrong about being told it was ok to take the meds all at once However, I will trust my doctor over the pharmaceutical company any day. Doctors have experience dealing with the meds in real life. I STRONGLY disagree with any advice here that takes control of treatment away from the patient and their treatment team. m From: Hepatitis_C_Central [mailto:Hepatitis_C_Central ] On Behalf Of redjaxjm Sent: Monday, December 01, 2008 3:45 PM To: Hepatitis_C_Central Subject: Sorry folks for the Confusion Hi everyone, There seems to be some confusion regarding when and how to take the Ribavirin while on Treatment. The inserts from the companies who manufacture Ribavirin state that it should be taken in 2 doses, 12 hours apart every day to keep the blood levels stable and not give the virus a break in order to replicate. There is a person who was stating that it is ok to take the meds anytime during the day and even could take all the meds in ONE dose. That could be harmful and could reduce the chance of SVR. WE are responsible to give out the most up to date accurate info, which we are trying to do. Our standing on this issue is that one should take their meds twice a day 12 hours apart. THAT is what the manufacture says, what most docs, RN's and other health care who truely know this virus state. IF you want to do your meds in any other cycle, please talk with your own doc and do what he says.. but understand that if you do it differently than what the protocol calls for, you may risk your treatment out come. We will always strive to give out ACCURATE Info here and we will stop the posting of anyone who is trying to argue the point with inaccurate info. Can we move on to other issues now? Please? Guest guest
, I think it's just wonderful that you have such a great doctor and treatment team. Not all do, and not all can change at will, or whim, either. To insist that all doctors know more than those that created the drugs seems ludicrous. Bottom line, and seems to be common sense to me, I would trust the manufacturer to know exactly how the drug is going to work best. I don't think we give advice here as much as encourage folks to work with their doctors, but also to take charge of their own health care. Sheena No, this isn¢t going to simply go away. Guest guest
Joyce, its perfectly fine to post what your doc said and you've not created any issues by doing so. Thank you for telling us your story hon! hugs jax No, this isn¢t going to simply go away.
