Guest guest
I am also a previous smoker, however my hypothesis is that while smoking we keep our immune system depressed " Because " we smoke, after we quit our immune systems are supposed to go back to " Normal " but I believe that in my case it went into overdrive triggering an immune reaction eventually led to my RA. I had been an ex smoker for 7 years when I was finally diagnosed with RA, I however think I have had this for many years but it was kept at bay by my constant immodepressed state secondary to smoking. I also believe that even if you began smoking again that if you went into remission that it would come back even stronger after a time, as is the case with pregnancy. Guest guest
Congratulations on quitting, Vicki. By quitting, we do more for our health than probably any other one thing.
