Guest guest
Greetings Lori: Welcome to the group. I am so, so very sorry that your young daughter has to go through the pain of RA, but at least you do have a name for the monster that is causing the pain, and having that will bring about the right treatment for her. I do not have any personal knowledge of Humira, but I do use Enbrel and it has really been of great benefit to me. I take it alone with Mtx. These new biologics have been working wonders on some patients who had run out of hope for any improvement, and I pray that the Humira comes quickly and your daughter will see good results within a few months. I know how time seems like so much longer when you are young, and in pain, but tell her that there is such good hope that Humira will help her, and if not that, then there are other medications that can be added, or new ones tried. It must be so difficult having seen your dad suffer from RA all those years, and now realizing that your daughter is also at risk for all that he went through, and there is nothing that you can do to take away her pain. But at least you do know what RA is like, and that is a mixed blessing in this case, as you can understand what she is going through to a degree that other family members that have never experienced anything like this cannot. I wish like anything that this did not happen to anybody, let alone a child, but it does and take heart that at least the medications that were not available to your father, are available to your daughter, and so much research and work is being done in trying to find out just why and how RA works, that I truly hope someday there will be a cure. Hugs to both of you, and hang in there - best of luck with the Humira - Kathe in CA --- Lori <lorimaynard@...> wrote: > Hello all, > > My name is Lori and I've joined the group because my > 12 yod has just > been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
