Guest guest
Thanks, Jackie. I have to do labs on Mondays because that is the day they check my 12 hour level of anti rejection drugs, and I have to do labs 12 hours after taking my anti rejection drugs on Sunday nights. I could do labs earlier. My post transplant coordinator told me not to worry about it too much since it was just one time like you said. My coordinator called me today because she was very pleased with my labs from today. My ALT dropped from 205 to 100, and my hematocrit is up to 44. The hematocrit being 44 is really exciting to me because I have had a really hard time bringing that up ever since my transplant in January. It's been in the 30's usually. My coordinator said the treatment may cause the hematocrit to drop, but it's jumped up since treatment started. It fell 4 points when I had my last liver biopsy in August. My white blood cell count is stable, and she said that could drop from treatment too. Guest guest
there was a big discussion on this recently and i asked my follow up doc about the 12 hour thing and she said it was ok to take the pills with breakfast and dinnner but i still take mine as close to 12 hours apart as possible. i haven't found anything that says the pills have to be EXACTLY 12 hours apart. > > I've never thought of this before, and nobody has ever said anything > about this that I can remember. Guest guest
you're right bob, there is nothing that says EXACTLY 12 hours apart,, but they SHOULD be as close to that as possible.. I believe either the insert in the riba box or one of our members said his says that you need to take it twice a day 12 hours apart and if you miss your dose by more than a couple hours to just go on to the next dose.. I was told that it needed to be 12 hours apart,, by the nurse who set up my treatment.. but being EXACTLY 12 hours apart to the min,, well thats not what we're saying,, but if you take it at 8 am, you should take it again at 8 pm. 6 am and 6 PM,,,,. its most effective at keeping your blood levels stable with that wall of medication to prevent the virus from replicating.. jax Subject: Re: DilemmaTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Monday, December 8, 2008, 7:08 PM there was a big discussion on this recently and i asked my follow up doc about the 12 hour thing and she said it was ok to take the pills with breakfast and dinnner but i still take mine as close to 12 hours apart as possible. i haven't found anything that says the pills have to be EXACTLY 12 hours apart.>> I've never thought of this before, and nobody has ever said anything > about this that I can remember. Guest guest
I'm not sure if that is the name of the meds, but she told me I may have to have a shot to keep up the counts if it drops.
