Guest guest
Hi a, I was just going back through " old " posts and saw this one. Did you get the answers you needed about your son's STARband and it's fit? My son had a STARband for 21 weeks and recently graduated. We had a number of adjustments in the first two weeks to tweek the fit, but it did not cause bruising or knots and I don't believe my son ever knew it was there! I don't want to worry you unnecessarily, but an inexperienced orthotist can cause more harm than good. Is there another orthotist available at the office you are using that can check the fit of the band? - mom to Aidan STARgrad 02/04/04 GR Mi > > Please feel free to stop in! > > Hi , > > I am new to the group and was wondering if you could help answer > some questions. Guest guest
Thanks June. It's good to be back. I really miss Elaine aka " runny fingers " too. Her hands are now affected and she can't write to the group anymore, but she occasionally will read the list. She asks about you and I keep her updated. Elaine has so many health issues, yet keeps her upbeat attitude, and her continued faith sees her through the most challenging problems. It was great to spend time with her and her family. I'll tell her you were asking for her. a On Jun 19, 2006, at 8:59 PM, June Dixon wrote: > Welcome back a, we missed you, did take good care of us. Of > course I remember Elaine, how is she doing. Guest guest
, I, too, have been around since, well, shall we say over 10 years.? I even remember Pat who started this wonderful group for us who had no where else to go.?? Unfortunately, I have been in and out of hospitals, in and out of comas, respirators, etc.? I knew a was moving to the east coast of Florida during that year the mother nature had her eye on Florida, then Louisiana and then back to Florida.? I remember the year so well, because my Vickie got married during one of those tropical storms.? Please give her my love and regards if you still keep in touch with her.? Her wit and knowledge are greatly missed. A big heartfelt thanks to you for all your dedication and knowledge (no you are not an MD !) Gentle, tender, loving angel hugs to a dedicated soul and a dear, dear friend.................. Guest guest
, Debs, and Cheryle, I do keep in touch with a, but I haven't spoken with her for a couple of months now. It's my hope that she will post an update to the group soon. I will tell her you asked about her. Guest guest
I hope you lab. results are fine. Thank heavens your meds. work so well for you. It makes life so much better. I have to have the MRI before I make my surgery date. I hope to get the appt. soon. I was waiting for the nurse at the hosp. to call me back. My Dr. wants contrast for the test, but I am allergic to iodine. She was going to talk to the radiologist to be sure it was iodine free. I will call today. Today you have to follow up on everything! Have a great day and talk soon. Stay well!! Love and hugs, Barbara From: rascalsniche@... <rascalsniche@...> Subject: [ ] Barb Date: Wednesday, April 21, 2010, 2:49 PM  They're called love bugs here also...or June bugs. I went to Cedar Point Amusement Park one year when I was in my teens and they were all over the place. I was aghast. You know teenage girls. LOL In Tarpon Springs they were horrible. I hated to step on one or sit on one. Tucker was mesmerized by them. After awhile, they were no big shakes for him. I loved Tarpon Springs and The Five Fishes store that carries all the Fresh Produce apparel. The Pride chairs are wonderful and now more affordable. I remember when I bought my dad one, they were very very expensive. But he loved it. I did have a foot bath once but gave it away. It didn't seem to help my feet much...it was soothing for about 20 minutes and that was it. I did see that pain relieving gel advertised at the podiatrist's office. It looks like good stuff. People put down prednisone but its a Godsend to me also. I guess I'll have to deal with stuff down the road. One rheumy I had didn't even want to get me started on it but during his care, I was always hurting. I've had this other rheumy now for more that 5 yrs and he's great. He listens to me..whatdya know?? lol I have the weight gain in my stomach...that middle age spread. always nice. I used to always be nice and thin. Now I have the tummy. I had labs done last week and now call yet from my rheumy..that' s always a good sign. It's been a week now. so hopefully things will be okay. My platelets are always always low... Hope your results are good and things are fine. when is your surgery?? Hugs..a
