Guest guest
Hi everyone, I actually got a chuckle out of the different " cures and causes " that people have found for RA and other autoimmune diseases! Boy, can I relate to that. Having Dercum's Disease, something that not very many laypeople as well as doctors have heard of brings just as many comments. When I tell people DD is like Fibromyalgia, except add in hundreds of painful lipomas, I get " tumors? like cancer? " , " lipomas don't hurt " (this from 2 doctors), " you just need to exercise and lose weight, and it will all go away. " I have been absent from this group for awhile, but can become more regular now. Our daughter and her 4 kids have moved to Georgia (this past Thursday) and while we pack all her belongings and arrange for a mover, she is living in an apartment with 4 rambunctious kids (triplets are 3, TJ is nearly 6) and no furniture or toys! She was able to take most of their clothes in her van, the TV/VCR, a bag of dinosaurs (for the boys) and a couple of dolls (for Rebekah) and that was IT. She's going to buy a lawn chair and TV tray so she has something to sit on other than the floor. She starts her new job Monday, TJ starts school, and the triplets go to daycare, but daycare is so expensive, it will take most of her salary. No wonder people give up and go on welfare, they can't afford to work! My husband had a thyroid biopsy last week, which came back normal, so a great relief there. He will be starting in a study for Parkinson's in 2 weeks, and looking forward to that. The Dercum's continues to progress unchecked, as so far we have not found anything that reverses the process except for HGH injections a couple of people have tried, but even that is not guaranteed, even IF you are approved. So I will be graduating to a Canadian crutch soon as it has become to difficult for me to hold a cane, and besides I need 2 now! My cane has landed unexpectedly in some of the funniest places (like on the table of some other diners in a restaurant.... " oh, sorry, this isn't the dessert you ordered? " I wish I could hug you all and take all your pain and misery away, but I will continue to pray for everyone. Dont' ever give up the fight!
