Guest guest
I was taking massive amounts of diuretics until I changed my diet and we finally got it down to 40mg Lasix and 50 mgs Aldactone 2 times per day. Most of it was diet change of 250mg sodium per day. I DO remember when I was so bloated I could not get out of bed without assistance. I looked 9 months pregnant and had an umbilical hernia that looked like Pinnochio's nose bursting out of my belly button. Are you taking diuretics? I had one abdominal paracentesis and sure as heck won't go back there as long as diuretic work. If they don't then you have no choice but to get a fluid tap. Talking to the Tech's and Nurse when I had mine done they said the longest they had seen someone go without a repeat fluid tap was six months Made a liar out of them. Its been 1 year since I had one. They did say some people have to come in weekly. My day will come too Last I talked to My Doctor at Mayo he told me to eliminate 40 mg of the Lasix at bed time. I tried it and the fluid poured back into my belly so I resumed taking it. Now its not a choice, they want me off Lasix so that will be it for me for treatment if my regular Mayo Doctor agrees with this nonsence. They say it will damage my kidneys. Well blood work and 24 hour urine tests have clearly shown there has been no change in my kidney function! I am hoping this was just a screw up That I can resolve on Monday That was my horrid Christmas present on December 23 from Mayo. Anyway that fluid buildup is more than annoying its also not allowing you to eat which is critical on Tx. I know until they took out the 10 quarts of fluid from me I could barely eat anything! There just was no room as the fluid was pushing against all my organs which is also very bad. Shot number 17 this Sunday Geno3a zero viral load as of week 5 > > Hi Sara, > > Happy holidays to everyone! Today is my 8 week shot Sara I got my period about 2 weeks ago. I had not had one in 2 years and have been through menopause. I was surprised. My doctor wanted me to see my OBGYN but by the time I was going to make an apt it stopped. A nurse told me it is the medicine messing with my hormones. I am still really tired. I could lay on the couch all day every day....is that normal for everyone? > I also have big legs and stomach and am guessing its from the cirrhosis. Will it go away when I complete treatment? It really bothers me. Feedback would be appreciated. > My doctor told me I have at this moment 20% use of my liver and with the treatment working this is as good as it will get. > > Love
