Guest guest
i've noticed a lot of people mention there viral loads were in the hundreds to a hundred thousand. ok. i'm genotype 2 with no real health problems and no symptoms other then a slightly elevated alt and ast but my viral load is 7 million. i start treatment this week for 24 weeks and want to know if treatment may be extended due to such a high load. i'm 55 and i probably have had hep c for 35 years or longer. Guest guest
Usually genotype 2's only treat 24 weeks because your genotype responds so well . I have a viral load of 20 million so it's not unusually for the viral load to get up there in the millions . a question about viral load i've noticed a lot of people mention there viral loads were in the hundreds to a hundred thousand. ok. i'm genotype 2 with no real health problems and no symptoms other then a slightly elevated alt and ast but my viral load is 7 million. i start treatment this week for 24 weeks and want to know if treatment may be extended due to such a high load. i'm 55 and i probably have had hep c for 35 years or longer. Guest guest
Viral loads don’t tell us much. After all, I’ve been undetectable several times, yet relapsed. The virus can hide in cells other than liver or blood cells. It’s even been found in brain cells. I think that sometimes at least a high viral load is the result of a recent “birth” of many new viruses. What’s more important is how it changes with treatment.
