, I believe that you sent another article about this sometime last

year. Dr. Colglazier was the most recent Fellow that I saw at Wake

Forest Baptist Hospital. He never once mentioned aspirin to me.

Maybe he has changed this now that he is a full-fledged rheumy.

I have recently started taking aspirin, since getting off of Celebrex.

When I was taking Celebrex, and Bextra before that, I didn't want to

undo the stomach protection of those drugs.

Interestingly, my cardiologist recommended I take a low dose aspirin along

with Celebrex for the protection against the heart risks.

My rheumatologist agreed.

Maybe he was worried about your previous GI bleed, Sue. You can always ask

your current rheumatologist about it.

Since I stopped taking Celebrex, I just started taking the baby aspirin

on my own. I do take it with plenty of food. When I see the rheumy next

month, I'll ask him if I should continue it. If my blood work doesn't

show any bleeding, it should be okay.

Sue, I meant you could ask your current rheumatologist why he thinks Dr.

Colglazier didn't recommend aspirin to you before. And, yes, you should tell

your rheumatologist ASAP that you've been taking aspirin.
