I totally agree with Dennis. All rheumatologists

should be open to using pain medications when the

patient gets to the point that they are asking for

help. RA causes pain - this is a given, and your

rheumy knows this. Chronic pain is something that has

to be dealt with better by all physicians. If your

doctor does not believe in pain medications, and you

are in pain, get another doctor who will treat ALL of

your symptoms, including the constant pain we all

endure!
