Guest guest
Hello everyone. I think I may have joined this group months ago but dropped off as I didn't have a diagnosis. My dr now thinks I have fibromyalgia but is referring me to a rheumatologist to make sure I don't have lupus. My ANA came back negative but my mom had lupus (she passed in '03) and I have so many of the symptoms but then they are also similar to fibro. I have a book on fibro and CFS and it seems like I have tons of the symptoms from both diseases. My main problem is I am sick all the time. I catch every single virus that circulates in my town (no joke) and it takes me a week longer to recover than anyone else in my family. My second biggest complaint is my lack of energy and ability to walk around while shopping or at the fair without feeling like I will pass out. I have heard of something called neuro mediated hypotension or something like that where a person's blood pressure drops when they are standing? I don't know if that's what I have but it's the only explanation I've found when it comes to fibro and CFS. I also have heat intolerance - it makes me so sick if I get hot. And I have a stomach condition called gastroparesis which I was diagnosed with last year. The nerves in my stomach don't function properly and so it slows the motility in my intestines and I suffer from nausea almost daily. I take anti-emetics for this and I'm currently on Wellbutrin XL to try and help with my energy. The only pain I feel is in my back, neck and shoulders. It is extreme achiness like I am always coming down with something. I've got numerous other issues but these are the main ones that bother me. I hope to get to know all of you and find what has helped you the most. I wasn't always this sick and I really hope to recover somewhat! I'm only 31 years old and I have no children. I had a miscarriage in March and now I'm thinking there is no way I could try and get pregnant again with how awful I feel lately. I work 4 days a week and am calling in sick so often that they are starting to get annoyed with me. I know if I was to get pregnant again that I would have to quit because I had such terrible morning sickness last time which was exacerbated by my stomach condition that I could not work. Okay thanks if you made it this far! Charisse
