I'm new to this and really haven't been looking to my first injection, but I call the doctor's office right away and try to schedule my training appt with the nurse for this Monday (the only day she is in). Well, apparently the nurse has shortened hours that day and I was told I have to wait a week. As much as a week doesn't sound that long, I want to get this done. My fingers are swollen and I want to get back to feeling somewhat normal again. The dr office tells me my other alternative is to call Humira and see if they have a video or something. So here's my question. Does anyone know if injecting Humira the same as injecting for diabetes? My husband used to inject his father all the time for his diabetes and he is telling me if it's the same, he would be willing to do it for me tonight. I also have a sister in law that's a nurse. Do you think she could explain it to me over the phone? I mean, what is so special about the training in the doctor's office? Anyone know? Thanks for your help! i dont think you have to wait till you see the nurse. I'm suprised they didnt give you any info on it. I was given a video and some other stuff... there is a 5 step process tha's really simple once you get the hang of it. maybe check out the Humira website and they will tell you. Guest guest
There are pretty good instruction on how to inject inside the humeri box. I inject into my stomach, you need to be two inches (about length of forefinger) away from you bellybutton, and you do NOT want to inject into the vein, The instructions say to use your stomacher or you legs. in WI <jhughes_bp@...> wrote: Hi Everyone, Finally after two long weeks of preapprovals and everything else, my Humira prescription is ready.
