Guest guest
Hi Holly: I've had that shoulder pain before, so bad that I could not lift my arm to do anything above mid-chest/shoulder level, nor could I turn my head to the right or left fully. I've had that several times, both shoulders, and feel that it associated to the RA, perhaps some inflammation in the cervical spine area. For me, I used my trusty rice sock (the knee-sock length one that I can wrap around and drape over my neck and shoulder area), and continued with my regular meds for NAISD and pain. Also, because I have FM too, my doctor increased my muscle relaxant (which I take daily anyway) intake for the duration of the pain, which helped. If it lasts for more than a few days, you might want to call your doctor and see if there is something he can prescribe for muscle relaxation. Best of luck and hope it does not last for too long.
