Hi Everyone!

I'm fairly new to the group and still poking around to see how

this works.

Nearly a year ago I applied for disability and have been

rejected. I recently reapplied and have come to find out that the

process may go more quickly when you obtain letters from all the

Doctors who are treating the R.A. and or other associated conditions.

What I didn't know is that in order to get a detailed report stating

all your limitations, treatments ect., a " PAPER " appointment is

necessary. Apparantly, you see your doctors physicians assistant and

discuss with he or she the exact nature of your limitations and have

them write an expanded report for the dept.of disability. At 60,

I must be out of the loop because years ago you could see your Dr.

and ask for a letter. Now, it's a separate appt............What's

wrong with this picture??? It appears to be just another way to add

an additional bill to the already soaring cost of health care. Has

anyone else come across this situation? With inadequate insurance

we truly are between a rock and a hard place.

I would love to be well enough to be able to work again. The

fatigue associated with the R.A. is so debilitating. I took Humira

for nearly a year and my immune system began to fail to the point

that I was coming down with uri's and anything else that was out

there. I decided that the " cure " was as debilitating as the

disease. and so with methotrexate ect. I have decided to DC

treatment with these meds for now until ????????????

I try to have a good attitude each and every day and thank God

for what I do have and not what I don't. I allow a small pity party

for myself from time to time, cleanse and release with tears, say a

prayer for someone else, dust myself off, and smile from the heart.

We choose the thoughts we think and in making positive thought

choices, you, those around you and life itself will respond with the

joy of being. My prayers led me to all of you....and I am ever

so grateful that our need for one another has led us to this

sharing!!!! LOVE AND BLESSINGS ONE AND ALL!!!!!
