Guest guest
I read the article yesterday--- Congratulations--Gordon, , , and !!! I hope it inspires many more like me. But the key question has been brought out--how do you close the earnings gap between the " Micros " and the " Traditionals " ? I don't think very many doctors will want to work as hard as we do and not make as much money as they are used to. As has been mentioned by others here, I am looking for ways to supplement my income with cash only services, so I can provide well for my family while I give my patients the kind of attention they deserve. How do we make the insurance companies recognize the value of this approach and reimburse fairly? --Padma > > Medical Economics ran an article on us in today's issue. Guest guest
I am not really sure the bad economics stuff is about being/doing an IMP It is about unsubsidized family pracitce right now. If you do an unsubsidized family practice and have lots of staff etc you struggle . You just struggle differenlty - you may get the salary you want but you churn'em through, life is a blur you cnanot keep track of your patietns or really know you are doing a good job and you might not recognize your husbdan if he walked in... Also the regional disparity is a big stinker. Some docs not subsidized in Connecticut or Colorado or New Mexico or NY do OK. Some in Ca or Pennsylvania etc fold. Wanna run for Presdient Padma? and FIX IT? i willvote for you Vote early Vote often. FP;s are moslty now subsidized- salaried- by hospitals who get enough income from procedures by specilaists to keep the fp's salary up Some of us are subsidized- by spouses, cosmetic work, moonlighting etc Re: Medical Economics Article on IMPs I read the article yesterday--- Congratulations--Gordon, , , and !!!
