Guest guest
I am pretty new to all this so I wanted to ask. I have somewhat of a sore throat. I am taking methotrexate. Is this something I have to worry about? It only hurts when I swallow but it doesn't look red. Do you all know anything?
Guest guest
Hey The methotrexate suppresses the immune system, which makes you more prone to infections, in your case your throat. At the same time your immune system, which is very active, is fighting this infection, so it cannot 'really' come out. At least this is what happens to me sometimes. You might then start a cold after a few days, or it might go away soon. But if it persists, I advise you to tell your doctor, because in this case he will have to take away the mtx for a while. I also take a vaccine against cold each autumn, to protect myself as best as possible against some of the viruses causing a cold, since getting a cold can trigger a flair. amira ktandtm <ktandtm@...> wrote: I am pretty new to all this so I wanted to ask.
