Guest guest
Hello! My mom was recently diagnosed with RA. I am a chiropractic student at NYCC and have been learning extensively about this disease and have joined this site to continue learning and recieving information about RA. I want to help her and others any way that I can, as well as offer a chiropractic perspective on the issue. I believe many health professions can work coactively to better the quality of life of RA patients! --------------------------------- Love cheap thrills? Guest guest
Welcome! I receive chiropractic care as well as acupuncture and massage. They've been very helpful in the management of my RA, along with swimming and a good diet. I've tried other (many) natural methods such as homeopathy and anti-inflammatory supplements for my RA but didn't see results from those. I've been taking methotrexate for two years, but recently had an abnormal lab report--elevated liver enzyme. I had another blood draw on Thursday and have decided to skip my MTX dose this weekend until I know the result. It's so nice to have a break from it this weekend! (The day after I take it is basically a lost day--I'm fatigued and unable to do anything.) I've been considering another exploration of complementary care, which would include seeing a naturopath. Funny, just as I'm taking this little break from medicine, my mom has decided to see a regular doctor this week for her very advanced, untreated RA. She has extensive joint damage and can barely walk. She purchased a wheelchair (via mail order) to help her get to the doctor's office. Until now, she has been dead set against seeing a doctor. It'd a miracle she went. She took some meds and had the first good night's sleep in a long time. :-) I'm hopeful for her. Sierra > > Hello! My mom was recently diagnosed with RA.
