Lori:

I am sorry to hear of your daughter loosing her hair -

it is hard enough for me to see my hair thinning, at

age 52, let alone be going bald at 13 - such a

sensitive age - how awful for her.

Is the Mtx and Humira working well for her RA? I am

on Enbrel and Mtx, have tried to do without one or the

other, only to find that I need the combo to have

relief of my RA. All you can do is try it, see if the

RA becomes more active and flares up without the Mtx,

and then make your decision based on the results.

Would your daughter choose hair over increased pain?

I would hope that this does not happen, but it could,

so you need to be prepared for that too.

I hope that, for her sake, she is able to go off of

the Mtx, and her hair begin to grow back in. Have you

tried Nioxin hair treatments? They have some great

shampoos and hair conditioning stuff that worked well

for me. Just a thought.

I am sorry that your daughter has to go through hair

loss on top of the RA - too young to be feeling so

damned old - and I will be keeping her and you too in

my prayers - Best of luck - hang in there -
