Guest guest
Trina, This is a huge issue for my son also. We solved it with plexiglass....my husband rigged up a door that we put on the entertainment center that " locks " up the VCR and Tanner's DVD player. We have a lock on the door and it can't be opened without a key. That means you have to change the movie when necessary, but there is no stimming on movies and we don't have to buy a new VCR every 4 months or worry about the DVD player getting broken! It took a while (a couple of hours) for my husband to design the whole thing. I can take a picture and email it if you'd like. Guest guest
We purchased online a metal box with a cover that has a plexiglass window and lock. I don't recall the website now, but the box is designed for use in convenience stores, etc., I think, to protect the videotapes on camera surveillance, so it was probably a security or media site. (I think it came from Atlanta.) It wasn't cheap - in the $200 range. It solved our problems for quite a while until the advent of DVD players on the boys' computers. Now I have the DVDs locked in a cupboard, but that doesn't always stop them from rewinding if they obtain a DVD to watch on the computer.
