MTX Question - When To Stop During Illness

Hi all.

It must be cold and flu season, because it sure seems like everyone

has been sick lately! I for one, have been unfortunately to have had

a month of being sick from one thing to the next.

Here's my question:

I was supposed to start up on my MTX injections a month ago. Right

after being told that, I developed strep throat, and was too ill to

take my injection. I took my antibiotics, and then developed a

bladder/UT infection - which required a whole new prescription of

antibiotics again. As you guessed, I put off taking my MTX - once

again. I was all set to take it on Monday evening (that is my

designated night), and I spiked a fever, had the scratchy feeling in

my throat, and the heavy/phlegmy feeling in my chest. I have been

battling this out for a few days at home, but will go see a doc on

Friday if it hasn't gotten any better.

Do I need to be right off my antibiotics or feeling healthy in order

to take my MTX??? I can't get ahold of my Rheumy, as she is away.

Something tells me that it's not good to take it while I am ill, as

it can cause trouble with the healing process.

Any and all info greatly appreciated!!!
