prednisone adjustment and pain

In my 24 years of experience when pain has gotten out of control and the doc had

me up my prednisone only to taper, all it did was force me into a horrible flare

on the taper down. To this day, I am on 10 mg prednisone daily, I up it 5mg

occasionally, like at night before bed. I've been on this crap for 24 years, and

there is no getting me off. I'm 37 years old. Every time I have tried to taper

down, the storm throws me into a hurricane! For me, the prednisone adjustment

isn't worth it.

If the pain is bad enough for you where you feel like you are gonna go out of

your mind, ask for pain meds. It's your right and they have to help. You are

their boss. You pay them.

Right now, everytime I call to say I am having a

lot of pain, they call me back and say up the prednison and then

start the taper again. I also take methotrexate.
