Guest guest
Hi , I will be starting on Humira tomorrow after a 4 month trial on Enbrel that was not that successful. (it helped some, but not nearly enough) I have been on 20 mg(.8 ml)MTX for quite a while now, but my liver values are heading up again. My doc told me to cut the MTX back down to 15 mg per week. Is there some magic number in terms of how much MTX seems to make the Humira work better? Or is that a matter of trial and error too? My liver values went WAY out of whack on Arava, but seemed to settle back down once I had been off the Arava for a while, even though I remained on the MTX. > One of the reasons researchers believe that Humira works better with MTX is > that it is thought that MTX suppresses the formation of antibodies directed > against the Humira. I would ask Dr. > Lehman about this also. > > > Not an MD > > I'll tell you where to go! >
