Guest guest
When you fially qualify for medicare disability and medicare insurance you have to get a part B and D carrier. I set mine up back early in October to be ready for November 1st. Because if the medicare disability, I am supposed to be low income and the copays are $5.00 or less. I just came back from the pharmacy for the 4th time in two days...after spending the entire morning on the telephone with medicare, social seurity disability, the carrier and the pharmacy it still is not straightened out I paid over $200 for just 3 of my perscriptions and even then had to have them put one back and not take it as I see the pain DR on monday and will have all those meds to fill. I am told that I will be reimbursed for all these costs as soon as I fill out some paper that medicare is sending me...but in the meantime I am goin without my humira (which was working SO well) and several other medications so that I don't detox off all of my antidepressent, muscle relaxant, and pain meds...by Monday my entire disability check and more (that I have to borrow) will have been spent on meds. No money left over to live on! if you a changing to a carrier for part B and D make sure that they have ALL of your information in their computer as there seems to be no way to add it later unless it comes straight from medicare which takes forwever!! You do not want to be out of your meds. My feelings....this new part D coverage has just created anther monster buerocratic monster that we have to fight to get to cover what theY proiMsed to cover. I threatened to call the state insurance board aNd that did get me a moRe helpful supervisor on the line....but the bottoM line was if you want the meds pay all your money....and theN wait till we get good and ready to reimburse you at our convience! This is not a improvement over the old system! We are still only getting the meds we can afford and going without those that are too expensive! BEWARE!!!
