BACKGROUND: Complications associated with herpes zoster are primarily

sensory, but motor involvement, especially in late life, can be part of the

symptom complex. CASE REPORT: We report a case of herpes zoster with motor

neuropathy in a 66-year-old female. Eighteen months after diagnosis and

treatment, the patient is regaining muscular strength in the affected limb.

DISCUSSION: Treatment of motor neuropathy mainly consists of physical and

occupational therapy. Most patients achieve functional recovery.
