Guest guest
Hi Kathe, I am also on relafen. yes I am taking folic acid, but the mouth sores are still happening. Maybe more folic acid? other than the mouth sores, it seems like the mtx is easier to deal with, meaning the brain fog and subsequent " hangover " are less each week, or maybe I am getting used to it. I can't seem to get used to the fatigue though. My answer will need to be to let go of some of the unimportant stuff and just focus on getting the important things done. and give in and nap on weekends... Thanks for sharing your experience with me. > > > Hi : > > Welcome to the group - sorry for the reason you have > joined us, but you have found a place where we really > do understand what you are going through. Guest guest
don't know what, if anything, i can add here but i know my doctor immediately put me on folic acid along with the mtx (i take a b- complex which also has folic acid in it but he wasn't sure that alone would be enough). i took my first dose of the mtx (so i'm sure it was a low one) yesterday and seemed to do fine. the pharmacist told me to make sure also that i drink as much water during the day as possible on the days that i take it . . . . . as for afternoon naps, well that's always been one of my favorite self-dulgent treats, long before this diagnosis ever came in. as far as i'm concerned, i say enjoy them ! ! ! ! ! bonnie/boys --- In , " natsmom823 " <natsmom823@...> wrote: > > Hi Kathe, > I am also on relafen. > > yes I am taking folic acid, but the mouth sores are still happening. > Maybe more folic acid? > > other than the mouth sores, it seems like the mtx is easier to deal > with, meaning the brain fog and subsequent " hangover " are less each > week, or maybe I am getting used to it. > > I can't seem to get used to the fatigue though. Guest guest
thanks Bonnie I totally understand the stressful job situation, made even more so when you add fatigue and (lack of) concentration issues into the mix. Somehow I vow to begin to nap while my baby sleeps on the weekend, it's really the only time I can nap, which means I need to let go of some of the chores that I do while she is napping (she only takes 1 nap a day, anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hrs long, sometimes I only have time to eat lunch before she wakes up again) I would love to nap in the afternoons during the week, but my workplace frowns upon it Hope you are having a (relatively) stress free day. > > > > > > > > > Hi : > > > > > > Welcome to the group - sorry for the reason you have > > > joined us, but you have found a place where we really > > > do understand what you are going through. Guest guest
yeah, my workplace kinda frowns on day-time naps too <g> but it sure would be nice sometimes just to sneak off to my car, put the seat back and grab a few. luckily i seem to do okay without although i sure do love them on the weekends and since my " kids " are the four- legged variety, they're more than happy to curl up and nap with me. still wondering about the meds though . . . . this is all so new (and i have to admit frightening) to me . . . . any advice. i just started the mtx (along with folic acid) and am gonna be having blood tests every two weeks while he adjusts the dosage. bonnie/boys > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi : > > > > > > > > Welcome to the group - sorry for the reason you have > > > > joined us, but you have found a place where we really > > > > do understand what you are going through.
