30 Days of Prayer in April

1. Please pray for the millions of children who have been diagnosed with autism.

The current numbers are that 1 in 166 children have autism. (Ten years ago it

was 1 in 10,000!) Pray boldly for their healing!!

2. Pray for the parents of children with autism. They are tired! Pray for them

to receive the rest that they need each day to cope with their child's

challenges.

3. Pray again for the children with autism. Pray that they will learn as many

new skills as possible this month. Pray that they make more strides than ever

towards their education goals!! Pray for April to be a month of miracles!

4. Continue to pray for the parents - did you know that the divorce rate for

families with a disability is over 50%? Pray for marriages to be strong and for

opportunities to arise so that parents can spend time alone together.

5. Pray for the siblings of autism!! Pray for their patience and understanding

as they grow up in a home with a child with autism.

6. Pray for the extended families of the children with autism.grandparents,

aunts, uncles, etc. Pray for them as they try to step in and fill voids and

needs for families that deal with autism.

7. Pray for the wonderful teachers who teach children with autism. Pray that God

give them continued enthusiasm and patience to work with these children.

8. Pray for all the therapists (speech, physical, occupational, behavioral) who

work with children with autism. Pray for their work to be fruitful!

9. Pray for the students that go to school with children with autism. Pray that

their words and actions will be kind and that they will be inclusive and not

afraid.

10. Pray for our churches. Pray for them to recognize the impact of ministry to

those families who are struggling to get through each day.

11. Pray for all the people that come in contact with our children with

autism.that they may be touched in some way by the smile or giggle or hug of a

child with autism.

12. Pray for the researchers who are working on finding the causes of autism and

ultimately a cure!

13. Pray for our government to give more money to fund autism research - autism

is the fastest growing disability in the United States, yet receives only a

small percentage of research funding.

14. Pray for the world to see that each child is an individual and just because

they have autism, they are not any " less " of a person than a normally developing

child.

15. Pray a prayer of praise for all the wonderful talents that children with

autism possess. Yet, also pray that the world will not see our children as

" Little Rainmen " ..only 2% of children with autism are autistic savants, which is

what Rainman was!

16. Pray for all the adults in the world with autism. Pray for them to be

surrounded by caregivers and family members who love them and meet their needs

in every way.

17. Praise God for all the laughable moments that children with autism bring to

our lives.

18. Pray for the governments, both state and federal to increase needed services

for children with autism. (Texas is #51 out of all 50 states and DC in services

provided to children with developmental disabilities.)

19. Pray for school districts to recognize the therapies that have been proven

to work with our children and implement them in our schools..and praise God for

the school districts that already do!

20. Pray for the children with autism.pray for them not to be too frustrated

when they have difficulty communicating with their loved ones or teachers.

21. Praise God for all the life lessons that children with autism are teaching

those around them.

22. Praise God for all the support groups and organizations that are available

to families with autism.

23. Pray for parents of children with autism to have the forethought and the

ability to plan for their child's future (i.e., wills, trusts, etc.).

24. Pray for all the people who volunteer to work with children with autism.at

church, at school, through Special Olympics or organizations like Joni and

Friends. Pray that God blesses them richly!

25. Pray for the future caregivers of our children with autism that will grow

into adults. They may not ever live on their own and their parents most likely

will not outlive them. Pray for these caregivers to be kind and patient and

loving.

26. Pray for the safety of children with autism. Many of them have no fear and

no intuitive sense of danger. Some may wander off unsupervised, some may swallow

objects that they shouldn't, there are so many things that parents of autistic

children must watch for and anticipate in order to be one step ahead of injury

or danger.

27. Pray for children with autism to sleep. Many of our children have difficulty

either getting to sleep or staying asleep. This is a drain on the whole family.

Pray for families that have this problem to get some sleep!!!

28. Pray for the upcoming summer months - children with autism thrive on routine

and summer can be a very challenging time for families.

29. Praise God for all the people who will learn about autism in the month of

April and will contribute in some way towards the quest to find a cause and a

cure for autism.

30. Praise God for His supremacy and for His love and guidance that He has given

those who are dealing with autism every day.
