Guest guest
Angelina, My sons are in an autism program at Leander ISD (a suburban area NW Austin), specifically, Giddens Elementary, and we couldn't be more pleased with their program. There is so much to tell you about the Austin area that we can't possibly do it through these posts. If you would like to email me personally, we can set up a time to talk on the phone and I would be happy to tell you of some excellent resources in the area, as well as definite school districts to stay away from. My email address is @ Austin.RR.com. in Austin Relocating to Austin Hello Everyone, I just joined this group because we are relocating to the Austin area and need help. My son was just recently diagnosed with Autism,he is 7. He has behavioral problems - mainly out of frustration. Speech wise he is 2yrs behind. He speaks 'well' but his comprehension skills need work. I have been working with him with homeschooling but he misses school and has asked to be placed back in school and on the bus. I need help finding everything in Austin: doctors, therapists, an excellent dentist but primarily we need a school district/specific teacher-class that can work with him and his behaviors as well as channel his strengths and help him to be an independent person. Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance, Angelina Texas Autism Advocacy www.TexasAutismAdvocacy.org Texas Disability Network Calendar of Events www.TexasAutismAdvocacy.org

Guest guest
Debby, I jotted your number down to call you. My sons have a Dr. appointment today, which always takes a very long time, then I have to go to Whole Foods, drop the boys off at school, and come home to get us packed for going to Houston for the weekend. We will leave right after school. I work Mon-Thur, I was going to see if you wanted to try to meet next Friday. You can email me off-line if you want and we can make arrangements. That is probably safer than relying on my memory to remember to call you!!! My email is @ Austin.RR.Com.
