But, I am wondering how effective the flu shots are in the face of TNF inhibitors, MTX and prednisone? This will be the first year that all of those agents are being used on my Mom, and I am rather anxious as to her protection. > > ________________________________________________________________________ ____________ > Sponsored Link > > Mortgage rates near 39yr lows. > $310k for $999/mo. Guest guest
Hi: I have been on Enbrel and Methotrexate for almost a year now together, and my doctor had no trouble with giving me a flu shot this year - in fact, she encourages her patient's to get the shot. I don't know about adding Prednisone to the mix, but since that is a steroid, you might want to get her doctor's opinion on giving her the flu shot. I don't think it would be a problem, but talk with the doctor just to make sure, okay? best of luck - take care - Kathe in CA --- nynypa <nynypa@...> wrote: > > >> > > I am so grateful that flu shots are available. > But, I am wondering > how effective the flu shots are in the face of TNF > inhibitors, MTX and > prednisone? Guest guest
Hi! The way I understand it - the flu shot is NOT a live vaccine and you cannot get the flu from it, no matter what you take or what's wrong with you. I've had Psoraitic Art. and Fibromyalgia since 2000 and my Dr. wants me and everyone in my home to get the shot. We (immune supressed people) can get any vaccine as long as it's not a live vaccine. You are a great daughter! > > > > > >> > > > I am so grateful that flu shots are available. > > But, I am wondering > > how effective the flu shots are in the face of TNF > > inhibitors, MTX and > > prednisone?
