The Plaid Sheep returns...

Hi everyone,

I know I have been absent a long time, but I have been thinking of

you. As today is another hot, humid day I decided to just relax most

of it instead of flying around like a demented Tasmanian Devil.

For those of you who don't know me and are reading this, I have

Dercum's disease which is sort of like fibromyalgia, but adding in

hundreds of painful lipomas all over my body. My most recent surgery

to remove a large lipoma was in late May, and had a golf-ball sized

tumor removed from my right forearm and sent to the doctor in

California who is researching the disease. It took a long time to

heal, and seriously interfered with my gardening!

Been dealing with our daughter's ex and his family, who have squatted

in daughter's house (which is on the market) and refuse to move or

pay rent. I shudder to think what the house looks like inside, but

we'll soon find out when the court-ordered eviction takes place.

Meanwhile he is making our life miserable.

My husband, Ron, is scheduled for deep brain stimulation surgery July

28 to relieve his Parkinson's symptoms. He is part of a study group

from St. Hospital in Indianapolis, and will be the 3rd

patient to undergo the surgery at this earlier stage in the disease.

He spoke to a man last week who was #2, and the man said it

has " exceeded his expectations! " They are hoping that by doing the

surgery earlier in the disease it might either stop or reverse the

course of the disease.

After Ron is recovered from his surgery and has his " pacemaker "

turned on, then I am due to have surgery on my right achilles'

tendon, which is sporting a rather large tumor, along with one in the

arch on that foot making it difficult to walk.

Well, that's bout all my news for now. I hope everyone is enjoying a

good Independence Day holiday (for those who celebrate it) and I join

those who are suffering much more pain from the heat and humidity!
