Guest guest
For whatever reason I am not able to search the archives at the moment to see if this question has been answered. To those of you who see pain management specialists, what protocols do they go through to relieve your pain? Do they do anything a competent Rheumie wouldn't? Do they have other devices to ease pain or are they more willing to dole out pain killers? I felt wonderful when I had my hand surgery thanks to a nightly dose of Percocet. I was well rested in the AM and able to chug along better. Last year I was branded by a new Rheumie as a doctor shopper since I had come from out of state. Mind you I had to drive 45 minutes if the Rheumie was in state or not! So since then I never bring up pain issues. However, I am getting to the point I want to investigate the pain management issue more thoroughly, regardless if I get branded. Currently I am on Prednisone, DayPro and Humira. I certainly wish not to up my prednisone dose, which the docs tend to do. Shandi
