You can also call the Enbrel people. Their number is on the Enbrel box.

Hope you can find a solution.

Also, , if you have any padding on your tummy, that might be a

less sensitive area to inject into instead of your thigh. I have plenty

of padding on my tummy, and use that. I would think the tummy would

perhaps have fewer nerves in it. If you use the alcohol wipe to swab

the injection site, do you make sure it dries before you inject? I

don't swab the site first, just after I inject. Hope it has calmed down

some.

As an insulin dependent diabetic that takes 4 shots a day, I too find my belly,

the area above my waist the least sensitive area to take a subcutaneous

injection. When I first started I tried all the sites, and now 11 years later

that is my site of choice. I too have padding and that gives me a variety of

options. First one side then the other, and so one. It is also important to

rotate sites. Sometimes you might hit a capillary and bleed a little, just

press and rub. You might get a little bruise but although it looks ugly it

doesn't hurt. Good luck.

Hi :

I have not had that large of a reaction site, but have

had some redness and heat once in a while, usually if

I also have a bruise this is the case. I would use

ice on the area to take away some of the inflammation.

Tomorrow you can call and let your doctor know about

the reaction. This could be a once in a while type of

thing, not every time you inject, and it might be that

you will be able to continue the Enbrel. If the next

time you inject, the reaction is worse, then I would

begin to worry. Since you have had no problems until

this, I would not begin to freak out too soon,

although losing a medication that is helpful to you is

a scary thought, I know. I hope it is a one time only

type of thing, but keep an eye on it, use ice, and

call your doctor in the morning. Relax, take care,

and let us know what your doctor feels - hang in

there, my friend, my prayers are with you -

You don't inject into a stretch mark; you just have to go in between

them. I go way over to the side, too, where there are fewer. I

alternate sides.

Why don't you try it next time and see it it works. If I lightly touch

the needle to a spot and it hurts, I try another spot.

thanks sue i'll try if i can find a spot. not close to the bellybutton

Hey :

I have heard that you should not inject into stretch

marks, don't know why, but that is what I have heard,

and inject no closer than 2 " to the belly button.
