Still very proud of you for taking the time to deal and cope with the

many emotions you have. Not rushing in, taking the time to

process...you are incredible. So glad your husband will be home

tonight, so maybe you can have some " Martha Time " ...you deserve it.

Thank you for the return hugs! :-))

I was hoping you would write with an update. It appears you have the

same intuition with your mom that I had with my dad. Many times I would

walk by the phone, talking aloud as if someone were supposed to call.

After several times by the phone, and having dad on my mind, the phone

would ring and something had happened. Or the times, out of the blue,

when I " thought " all was well, I would call and find out something had

happened. Just an inner insight to someone we know so well. I am sure

it breaks your heart to see the bumps and scrapes on your mom's face.

As if she isn't having enough struggles and having you watch her go

through it, now you have visual effects. It is all part of this nasty

disease and just can't always be prevented. As much love, coddling, and

affection we give we just can't always ward off the problems of the

disease. I am interested in knowing how the grief counselor is helping.

Please do this in your time...'everything is made beautiful in its

time...' So when you are ready share your knowledge. Have been

thinking of going to a grief counselor myself. Just the fact that both

my parents are gone makes me feel it would be healthy to talk to someone

educated in the field. See, already you are a step ahead of me. Thank

you for planting that seed!

So glad you are taking a little time for yourself and your family.

I will wait to hear from you again, and in the meantime know you are in

my prayers!

Sending you many hugs-

Sandie

I am feeling the pain right along with you with the bruises your mom

has, and her blackened eyes. There are so many emotions that run ramped

when we see our LO so marred. I remember being told my dad had been

" shaved " and how he fought a little. So when I saw him, he had cuts and

nics all over his face...on his cheeks, his nose, his throat...it just

totally broke my heart. Then there were the times dad had " new " bruises

and the staff couldn't account for them. A few times I insisted that

the director of nursing, the nurse on duty, all aids in the unit, and

the nursing home director come to dad's room so that I knew they had

seen them, and they 'knew' I knew. The thought of your mom falling

gives me a visual that is hard to take in. Then, knowing how you felt

when you saw your mom, both yesterday and today...as I said, my heart

aches along with yours. I am so sorry you have to see your mom like

that. It sounds like the fall didn't affect her spirits, and that is a

blessing.

Thank you for continuing to tell your story. You are a valued member

with more knowledge than you are aware of. I appreciate your continued

posts and updates. Prioritise again, and try not to let LBD consume

your every thought.

My prayers are with your mom for a speedy recovery with the bruising and

for your strength to live life with LBD in it.

Hugs!

Sandie

Martha,

My mom fell once at home and broke 5 ribs and no one knew until a week later

when she had exrays. Her eyes were black and blue too and we didn't even

realize she hurt her ribs. I would think the NH should have them taken to be

sure. Take care, Shirley
