Discoid lupus is confined to the skin whereas systemic lupus (SLE)

can cause inflammation of both the joints and organs.

It is possible to have SLE and have a negative ANA although it is not

common.

Does ANA-negative lupus exist? What other labs are helpful when

thinking of this diagnosis, and what if all of them are negative?
