Guest guest
What I am experiencing now is a definate increase in the amount of pain and disability that I have. Fortunately, I am not depressed, like I was last winter, but I am scared as my illness is definately getting more severe. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist to get to the bottom of this, but the soonest I could get in was Jan. 2. I have the bloodwork that indicates a strong possiblity of RA and since my mom has it, and I am seeing changes in my hands, it is probably true. My more severe pain has forced me to slow down lately. I wisely finished the majority of my Christmas shopping early, so I just have cards, decorating and some baking. We get a real tree and I put on the ornaments. I also like to make a few ornaments to give to people who are special to me, but do not receive an actual boughten present from me. I usually make about 15-20 handcrafted lace ornaments. This may be my last year for that or I might only be able to do a few as my hands are giving me a lot of trouble. I guess what I would like to know is this: Over the many years you have had fibromyalgia and know people with it, what has been your experience in the increase of pain and mobility problems, otherwords, how bad will I get??? Thanks in advance, Penny ps. To those who are not familiar with me. I used to work fulltime, but about a year ago, my illness progressed to the point, I now work an average of 26 hours a week, I do most of my own cleaning, cooking, and grocery shopping and my mobility is pretty good. I have more issues in my upper body and I have pain in hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles and feet. I have had fibromyalgia for about ten years. I also have asthma and allergies. I am about 50 pounds overweight, but I still walk for exercise, although it is pretty leisurely walking.

About a year ago I found a fibro dr. in Marina del Rey CA that has a guifinisen protocol and I did that treatment. It was terribly painful, but after about 3 months I felt better than I had in 2 years. His website is http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com I have several friends that also use this treatment and have had good success. I was nearly bedridden with it, started treatment in Sept. of last year. By January I was doing regular gym classes and aqua aerobics, and by March I was hiking up the great wall of China on an amazing trip I would never have been able to do. Good luck, > What I am experiencing now is a definate increase in the amount of > pain and disability that I have.
