Guest guest
I don't have Sjogren's, but it seems that my teeth keep falling apart. I already had one tooth that is broken, leaving the filling intact. I had been procrastinating about having it fixed, because I know it will need a crown. Then last week I was visiting my brother and ate some pork skins. They were harder than the ones you buy in bags. My sister said she was afraid to eat them because of her crowns. I said I always thought that my one crown was stronger than my other teeth, so I chew more on that side. In the next minute I bit into a pork skin and broke another tooth on that side that was mostly filling. It really is irritating because of the sharp edges it left. It's a wonder that I have a tooth left in my head because I grew up poor and dentist visits were rare. If we had a tooth ache, that's when we were taken to the dentist. So I guess I'll see you at the dentist's office, Dennis, LOL. And, no, I don't think there's much of a chance that Medicare will help you with the cost, unfortunately. But it wouldn't hurt to inquire. They do help pay for my ophthalmologist visits, because I have diabetes and need to get them checked for retinopathy, plus I have Fuchs' corneal dystrophy. Guest guest
Hi Dennis, This is Steph in VA. Trying to get Medicare to cover dental work may be possible. For me, my HMO doesn't cover vision checkups at all. However, since vision problems are related to my RA and my meds, my rheumy & my primary care doctor write letters to the HMO and a referral so that it is covered just like going to the rheumy (with a specialist co-pay). I suggest talking to your doctors. I'm sure they have dealt with this in the past. Take care, Steph in VA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ " Never underestimate the power of a small, dedicated group of people to change the world -- indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
